A few tweaks to the default Axure specification template are required to enable me to to neatly fit all the information I require onto each page.
- Single column A4 portrait templates work well for specifications with lengthy detailed annotations
- Use an A3, 2-column landscape template for design specifications that require more focus on the images
- This can still be printed to A4, but using A3 makes the wireframe images higher resolution with plenty of room for annotations on the right
- Play around with the default font size to ensure all the relevant annotations fit comfortably in the right hand column, without spilling onto a new page
- A consistent header and footer with page numbers helps in case any pages get separated, or need to be printed individually
- Create your own template by generating a specification with an Axure default then rework the style settings in Word until everything sits well
- Strip out the generated content, type [[INSERT AXURE SPEC]] and save as a new Axure template file
